Lilydale’s Main Street is adorned with an amazing display of over 4,500 hand-knitted poppies in memory of those who have served our nation.
I am proud that my office could play a small role in helping organiser and local volunteer, Sharon Chuck, by putting a call out for volunteer knitters and distributing wool!
This year’s display features life-sized figures of a horse, a nurse, and a soldier — each one a powerful symbol of remembrance and respect.
Congratulations to Sharon and all the volunteers involved in this display over the past year, such a beautiful way to honour the ANZACS and all those who have served who once called Lilydale home.
