Small businesses and hospitality venues are the heart of our community, but they've had a difficult few years.

That's why the Coalition will let small businesses claim up to $20,000 a year in tax deductions for meals and hospitality - helping cafes, restaurants and pubs with an increased spend in their businesses, which in turn helps create local jobs and supports our economy.

In 2022, I committed $10 million to boost our local emergency resilience. Today, local facilities in Montrose, Menzies Creek, Wesburn, Warburton and Macclesfield have been equipped with solar panels, battery back-ups, generator plug-ins, HVAC systems and LED lighting.

More projects are underway in Belgrave, Dixons Creek, Healesville, Mooroolbark, Kilsyth, Monbulk, Mt Evelyn and Upwey. This Liberal funding is ensuring all locals can access powered community hubs in the event of an emergency.

Amazing weather and conversations in Mooroolbark today, listening to what’s important to our community.

The biggest issue was by far the increasing cost of living. From higher prices at the supermarket checkout to increased electricity bills, unfortunately many locals and families are feeling the pinch.

The congested bottleneck at the Mooroolbark and Hull Roads Underpass was another hot topic, with many supporting my local campaign and signing my petition.

It was also great to bump into some many locals, including volunteers and players at the @mooroolbarkfc, @mooroolbarkjfc and @mooroolbark_cricket_club who were all excited by my commitment of $4 million towards the upgrade of the Heights Reserve pavilion in Mooroolbark.

As our community representative, I will always work hard for you. Whether it be fighting to ease the cost of living pressures, advocating for funding to improve community facilities or working to deliver safer local roads, I’ll always stand up for our community.

I know how important it is that we have safe and sealed local roads.

In 2024, our strong community campaigns saved the Killara Road upgrade and Montrose Canterbury Road upgrade from Labor's chopping block.

I will continue advocating for Labor to reinstate the funds they cut from our local road sealing program and for an upgrade to the Hull Road and Mooroolbark Road underpass.

Where we live, it is vital we are prepared for emergencies and natural disasters.

As a candidate, I was proud to commit $10 million to the Resilience Yarra Ranges Project.

This funding is currently being used to enhance community resilience at 16 local locations - including Montrose Recreation Reserve, which has just been fitted with new solar panels, battery back-up and a generator plug in.

I am deeply concerned about the imminent closure of the Intensive Care Unit at Angliss Hospital in Ferntree Gully.

The added pressure on Maroondah Hospital and Box Hill Hospital will undoubtedly worsen the already critical situation for the health and wellbeing of our seriously ill or injured residents.

I’m calling on the Victorian Labor Government to guarantee the ICU will reopen with the new expansion of Angliss Hospital scheduled for mid-2026.

The Yarra Ranges has no ICU or emergency department. Closing the Angliss ICU now means a 45-minute to one-hour commute to Maroondah or Box Hill for life-saving care.

Our community deserves to know if this closure is only temporary. We need clarity and assurance.

It was great to meet with David recently to get an update on the Cerini Housing Project. This project is a pivotal step towards ensuring affordable housing for local families.
