LET’S LIGHT UP MONBULK!

Monbulk Regional Soccer Centre is one of the key sporting precincts in our community, attracting players from all over the Hills and Yarra Valley.

Today, I announced that an elected Liberal Government will deliver $365,000 towards upgraded lighting on the pitches, to ensure players can continue enjoying sport long after the sun goes down.

And importantly, these lights will reduce energy consumption, saving club costs and cutting emissions.

Thank you to all those who raised this issue with me and signed my petition.

Today the Coalition announced new measures to clean up the construction industry:
✅ New laws to crack down on criminal organisations, based on the successful US mafia takedown model
✅ A new AFP-led taskforce to target corruption and organised crime
✅ Immediate deregistration of the CFMEU—no more delays, no more weak administration processes
✅ Restoring the building industry watchdog with stronger powers and tougher penalties

Walked the streets of Lilydale today with Shadow Minister for Small and Family Business and Industry, Skills & Training @sussanleymp to talk with locals and small business owners.

We were lucky enough to meet with Stel from @kindredwarrior.yoga and also dropped by @snipsoflondon and @hutchandco.lilydale

Also great to drop by @rangestec to see firsthand the skills our local apprentices are learning.

Our community is proudly home to some of the highest numbers of tradies in the country and this wouldn't be possible without this fantastic local trade school and the many small businesses who provide opportunities for our apprentices & trainees.

Out in Warburton & Yarra Junction today to hear what matters to local residents. Lots of concerns were raised over the state of local roads and many questions about Labor’s cuts to our local road sealing program.

Even Yarra Junction Primary School students stopped by to talk about the need to seal their roads.

Locals also raised the need for upgraded facilities at Wesburn Park to support women’s sport. I'll keep advocating for better roads and infrastructure to support women's participation in sport.

It was a heartbreaking start to the season for us Collingwood supporters, but even more disappointing was the gambling ads during the game while I watched with my family.

I'm proud that a Coalition Government will move to ban sports betting advertising an hour before, during and an hour after sporting games, because footy time is family time.

Great start to the day getting some steps in at Lillydale Lake! Even better to be walking for an important cause. Today I walked with Lilydale RSL president Bill, vice president Terry and member Nita to raise awareness for veteran suicide as part of the @soldieronaust 'March On' Challenge.

The RSL is fundraising to support mental health services and programs aimed at preventing veteran suicide and saving lives, with Nita committed to walking 400km throughout March alone!

Small and family businesses are the backbone of our community – and Computer Design Kitchens are celebrating 30 years in business!

Founder Mario began as a cabinet maker over 60 years ago, starting Computer Design Kitchens in 1995 alongside his son James. Today, the business is continued by James, his wife Marina, their sons Lachlan and Blake, and Mario’s brother Tony.

It was great to visit the factory today to congratulate the team on this exciting milestone and hear about the great work they do building and installing custom cabinetry.
