It was a close contest between Don Valley Primary School, Wandin North Primary School, Montrose Primary School, Mount Evelyn Christian School - MECS and Lilydale Primary School – with Lilydale Primary School's scarecrow crowned most outstanding in the field! 🌾

Great to catch up with so many locals and community groups, including Lilydale CFA Fire Brigade, Lilydale State Emergency Service, Lilydale Judo Club, Lilydale Cricket Club, Lilydale Sailing Club, Lilydale Community Gardens, Lilydale Community House.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to let me know what issues matter most to you. Cost of living, roads and healthcare topped the board and I’ll continue advocating for better outcomes for our community.

MAROONDAH HWY & KILLARA ROAD COLDSTREAM FUNDING SAVED!

I am thrilled that our strong community campaign has saved the $20 million in funding secured by the former Federal Liberal government.

After a long 200 days since the Albanese Labor Government put the project on the chopping block, I am pleased to let you know that the Federal Liberal funding for Maroondah Hwy & Killara Rd has been saved!

Thank you to the 1,000 people who signed my petition, the hundreds who attended community meetings with Bridget Vallence MP and I, and every member of our community who advocated to the Federal Government on the importance of this project.

The former Federal Liberal Government secured the funds to upgrade this dangerous intersection in 2019. After nearly 5 years of inaction by the Victorian State Government and this drawn-out review, it's time they got on with the job and fixed this dangerous intersection.

Yesterday we witnessed the best of our community in Montrose.

After vandals struck over night seeking to stir hate and division by desecrating the Montrose War Memorial, locals came together with the support of Yarra Ranges Council to clean the memorial in time for the Remembrance Day service.

It was a fitting tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and those who have served to keep us safe and free.

Congratulations to all the volunteers involved in the service for an inspirational display of community spirit and respect.

We thank them for their bravery, their courage and their sacrifice - and we honour the memories of the 103,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving.

The RBA lifted interest rates this week, marking the 12th rate hike under the Albanese Labor Government.

While the RBA is independent of government, decisions the government makes directly impact inflation.

If only the government listened back in February, when the IMF warned that their $45 billion in off-budget spending would be inflationary.

Australians are now paying the price, with the RBA left to do all the heavy lifting.

Great to be at the official opening of the Lyrebird College Senior Section, made possible through $880,000 in funding provided by the former Coalition government.

Thank you to Founder Melissa, Principal Julie, teachers, parents and students for the great ceremony to officially open this fantastic new space.

The Lyrebird College community is evidently a safe place for students and families to be accepted, understood and supported on their learning journey - an asset to our community here in the Yarra Ranges.
