Casey was named in honour of Lord Richard Gavin Gardiner Casey (1890-1976), who was a member of the House of Representatives and Governor General of Australia from 1965-1969.
From the Upper Yarra, down into the Yarra Valley and over to the ferny hills of the Dandenong Ranges, Casey is made up of many beautiful, tight-knit communities.
Our biggest local industries are tourism, wineries, agriculture, manufacturing and small business.
The electorate also has a rich sporting culture with many thriving local clubs across various sports.
Casey covers 2481 sq km of semi-rural land and is made up of Yarra Ranges Council and parts of Cardinia Shire Council.
