Casey is made up of many beautiful, tight-knit communities.
From the suburbs of Lilydale, Chirnside Park, Wonga Park, Kilsyth and Mooroolbark, to the Yarra Valley, out into the Upper Yarra and over to the ferny hills of the Dandenong Ranges – the Electorate of Casey spans 2,624 sq km and takes in the local government area of the Yarra Ranges, as well as parts of Cardinia Shire, Nillumbik Shire and Manningham City Council.
Our biggest local industries are tourism, wineries, agriculture, manufacturing and small business.
Casey was named in honour of Lord Richard Gavin Gardiner Casey KG GCMG CH DSO MC PC, 1890–1976. Casey was a Member of the House of Representatives (1931–40 and 1949–60) and Governor-General of Australia (1965–69).
