Our community is facing a healthcare crisis.

In our community, which spans nearly 2,500 square kilometres, we have no emergency room and only several bulk billing clinics. That’s making it harder and harder to see a doctor in our community.

Fortunately, the Coalition has a plan to attract more local GPs.

The Coalition’s Plan

• Increase the number of GPs across Australia.
• Ensure accessible and affordable healthcare for everyone.
• Incentivise junior doctors to become GPs through increased payments, leave entitlements, and pre-vocational training.

A strong pipeline of home-trained GP graduates is crucial to delivering essential healthcare to communities like ours. Without immediate action, the shortage of doctors will only worsen, making it even harder for families in the Yarra Ranges to access the medical care we need.
