An elected Liberal Government will provide $300,000 towards upgrading the change rooms at Wesburn Park to encourage female participation in sport.
Liberal Member for Casey, Aaron Violi MP, said there had been exciting growth in women’s and girls’ sporting teams in the community, but outdated facilities have been holding them back.
“Currently at Wesburn Junior Football Club, girls and boys have to use the same outdated change rooms.
“The facilities at Wesburn make it hard for the club to grow participation among women and girls.
This funding will go towards a much needed upgrade of the change rooms to increase accessibility and ensure women in the Upper Yarra have the facilities they deserve while playing sport,” Mr Violi said.
This project is part of the Liberals’ plan to build stronger communities and get Australia back on track.
