An elected Liberal Government will invest $5 million towards upgrading the community hub at Lilydale for all locals to enjoy.
Federal Member for Casey, Aaron Violi said this funding is a major investment in grassroots sports and will help deliver a community hub for the wider community to enjoy.
“I’ve heard from locals, community groups and Lilydale sporting clubs that Lilydale needs a place for community to come together. Lilydale clubs have seen exciting growth in women’s sport, but their facilities are holding them back.“
“This investment will help deliver a community hub and support both current and future generations to get involved in local sport, Aaron Violi said.
We will also commit $250,000 for temporary toilets and change rooms so that all players – particularly women and girls – have the facilities they need.
Lilydale Cricket Club president Stephen Oxley said this announcement means the world to the club.
“This will allow us to attract more juniors and a female cricket side. We can’t do so with the current change rooms because they just don’t accommodate for ladies cricket or growing junior sport.
