An elected Liberal Government will invest $75,000 towards upgrading the female change rooms at Woori Yallock Reserve to encourage greater female participation in sport.
Liberal Member for Casey, Aaron Violi, announced the commitment at the Woori Yallock Football Netball Club season launch on Thursday 3 April.
“Our local sporting clubs have seen exciting growth in women’s sport, but outdated facilities are holding them back.
“The facilities at Woori Yallock Reserve are lacking for women and girls. This funding will go towards a much-needed upgrade of the change rooms to ensure women in the Upper Yarra have the modern and safe facilities they deserve while playing sport,” Mr Violi said.
Woori Yallock Football Netball Club President, Donna McLennan, said upgraded facilities would make a huge difference at the club.
“We are the last football club in the Yarra Valley without dedicated facilities for our women.
“These are essential facilities to support women and girls in sport. Thank you to Aaron Violi for working with us and delivering this commitment for Woori Yallock,” said Ms McLennan.
